you wouldn’t expect it, but the city of dayton, ohio has a really nice irish fest held right downtown alongside the river. and the AMAZING thing is that with all of the great talent they have at this festival, you would think it would cost to attend, but no, it’s free.
as a late decision to go, mindy, sally and i decided to check out the festival, held between the weeks of irish fests in cleveland and dublin, ohio. with an amazing number of vendors, too, the lineup of talent included gaelic storm (who just released a new cd, chicken boxer), enter the haggis, scythian, homeland, slide, and Máirtín de Cógáin.
what a good choice we made, as this was a really nice festival we will probably return to in the future.
