“Reggae on the Water” Cruise 2019

Many of you know that I work with the band Carlos Jones & the P.L.U.S. Band (Peace, Love, and Unity Syndacate). For a while, I thought the band should do a “reggae cruise”. Well, we finally did!

After worrying about the weather for almost a week prior to the date, it rained almost EVERY day! But, somehow, probably with Carlos’ amazing talent for getting the weather to be clear on gig nights, we ended up with a PERFECT day (and evening) to you out for a 3-hour tour out on Lake Erie and down the Cuyahoga River.

By the time it was done, EVERYBODY had such a great time, that at the end of the night MANY people were already asking us about the next one!

LaureLive 2019

Coming into my 4th straight LaureLive (I have been to them all), I was looking forward to it as I was now their MAIN photographer, with access to everything at the festival. After getting my credentials, I was set for 2 long (but fun) days of great music! I was REALLY looking forward to seeing Trombone Shorty again, anxious to see Castlecomer for a full set, and checking out Rodrigo y Gabriela, who are the most amazing guitarists. NONE of those bands let me down from my expectations. Nor did the Vindys, one of the hottest bands in Cleveland right now. They will be on the main stages of festivals VERY soon at the rate they are going.

Besides all of the great music I got to hear, had a great time getting to hang out with Trombone Shorty for a little, and even ended up having a small dinner with Sheryl Crow.

I may have put 13 miles on my fitbit over 2 days, and ended up exhausted, it was quite a fun time.

LaureLive 2018

It was a LONG, fun 2 days shooting for LaureLive. It was great seeing the band Magic Giant again, as they are so good, such nice guys, and fun to shoot, too! I FINALLY got to see Trombone Shorty, and was BLOWN AWAY by the energy and music they produce! The Record Company rocked hard, and many other bands were enjoyable, too. It was interesting seeing the insides of the trailers that the bands used for dressing rooms/rest areas. If it had not rained, it would have been a perfect weekend! WOW (wade oval wednesday) w/ carlos jones & the P.L.U.S. band

now i know that carlos jones is popular in cleveland, and that wade oval wednesday has gotten more popular over the years, but THIS one was HUGE!

i have been going to wade oval wednesdays for a number of years, as it is a GREAT little thing that happens in cleveland over the summer. for 10 straight weeks, they have a different style of band play from 6 – 9p.m. in the grass are that sits in between the art museum, history museum, botanical gardens, cleveland cinematheque, and historical society. they have bands that play vlues, reggae, jazz, salsa, motown, 80’s, you name it. it is a different one each week.

all i can say is that carlos & band had that place grooving at an AMAZING level…

larchmere porchfest 2012

one of the coolest music fests i have ever heard of is the LARCHMERE PORCHFEST. located around larchmere avenue on the border of shaker heights and cleveland, the festival takes place on 30 DIFFERENT porches at peoples houses. the music is staggered in such a way as to be able to walk or bike to numerous musical acts over the course of 4 hours. if you have never been to it (now in it’s 3rd year), i HIGHLY suggest you go!
